Good, but...

The app itself is great, and mostly get the job done. But I would expect from this february update : - MUCH Faster lunch, whats wrong with the server? It takes ages, like if the whole interface had to be loaded… - Retina support ???!!!

Crash!

This application crashes repeatedly. I have a MacBook Pro and a Mac Mini, and it crashes repeatedly every 20/30 songs cleaned.

It doesn’t work with iTunes 12

Ive just bought TuneUp in Mac App Store and it doesnt work with iTunes 12. It keep saying the files are in an unsupported format, but theyre mp3 files. If it doesnt work with last version of iTunes it must be cleare displayed in the store. I want my money back!!! Its not a cheap app. Ive spent U$ 39,99 and your app doesnt work...

Frequent crashes and hangs

I was happy to find this app in the App Store, it even looked to be a newer version than what I could get from the web page. Unfortunately, this version frequently crashes or hangs (spinning beach ball). And if it happens to work, initial start-up and normal clean-up operation take ages ("Connecting to TuneUp Server", for example). I couldnt find any way to see a bit more closely what is actually happening to find out what might cause the problems. Please bring an update soon!

Keeps crashing

This app crashes over and over again. The Windows version isnt any better.

PLEASE GIVE YOUR CUSTOMERS AN UPDATE!

The Programmfor itself is quite ok, but it keeps crashing and loosing the internet connection. We Payed quite a bit for this program, get it straight !!! +++ DO NOT BUY THIS TILL THERE IS A STABLE VERSION +++

very happy with this

Other than the fact that I would rather have paid $20 or under for it, I am really happy with this app. I have used other tools for years but find Tune Up is faster and required less configuration etc. For what it does it is fast, intuitive and very accurate. Plays well with iTunes.

Disappointment mixed with buyers remorse

I have only been using it for a day but for $40 it seems quite expensive for what it is. It is not fool proof so you actually need to make sure it is giving a song the correct label or actually erasing a duplicate and not a live version, alternate version, video, etc. If you have thousands of tracks this can then becoming very time consuming and therefore why would I not just use the "show duplicate" feature in iTunes. Also, mine has become hung up / non-responsive and I have needed to force quit the program almost ten times in the first hour of using it. In my opinion I would wait for a sale or an update on this product as it was not worth $40. If I had purchased this at a retail store I wopuld try to return it but am not certain how that procedure would work on the app store.

A bit pricy, and a buggy first realease but solid software.

as a person has has trialed Tune up in the past on multiple computers I finally felt it was time to buy this app. the $40 price tag is a bit high, but tune up the software has hung around this price for at least 4 years so I dont expect it to drop anytime soon. The app itself is much more powerful then itunes "find Duplicates" as it doesnt just show you duplicates but will actually delete them OR move them to a duplicates folder within your file structure which can be very handy if you accidently delete your rare live recordings! Tune up has similiar functions for its "clean" and "cover art" sections where there is a very simple reverse if anything were to go wrong which is very handy. Tune up not only cleans up the titles, album covers and removes duplicates but it will also add track/album information/ and insert missing song meta data such as: Composer/Genre/Year etc which makes it play very well with Genuis playlists and knows the difference between, Rock, Progressive Rock, Alt-Rock, Classic Rock, Alternative Rock, Mainstream Rock etc. For the audiofiles out there Tune up can be set to a high Genre change level with 764 unique Genres! all this being said I agree with the previous review with TuneUp becoming Hung-up and Non-responsive very often, I dont remember this issue with the TuneUp Ive trialed before so hope this is a bug that will be ironed out in an update. (3 star rating for this issue as its frustrating right now).

Great app!

Look I have no idea what the complaints are about this is a great app very useful, but if you are say a DJ or have indie content that is rare or promo media dont run it on this as it will have difficulty finding some it, you are better to just use itunes to fix those one up. But as far as main stream and most of my audio it worked flawlessly! my only problem is the random crashes when it gets to many tracks maybe they can fix that in an up and coming version I beleive this app will get better and better as it goes along

Saves a lot of time

When I consider the time I would need to do what this application does, the price is not an issue. It actually recognized some very obscure recordings of Czech pop music and also classical albums. There may be a technical issue: I suspect memory leak. The application eats away on memory. I use freememory to monitor and clean up.

Works well, but very buggy

I hate to be one of those people who post negative reviews, but so far my experience with this product has been lackluster. I mainly wanted it for its cover art functionality, so thats what most of this review focuses on. Pain Points: - TuneUp has to import your entire library track list on every launch (10 seconds per 5000 tracks) which can get annoying if you have 10,000+ tracks. - TuneUp is very buggy. It often sits at the "Connecting to TuneUps Servers" screen and needs to be killed (I have a 50mbps cable connection) - To use the cover art feature, TuneUp searches your entire library for missing cover art every time you launch the program (you cant drag songs to search for cover art). I have just over 10,000 songs, with a few thousand missing cover art, and this process takes 5 minutes and 30 seconds every time I want to use the feature. - When you decide to save the selected cover art to your music files, sometimes the album is removed from TuneUps missing cover art list but your files are not actually changed. - The cover art feature will only look for missing album art. If you have albums with low-resolution artwork, you have to use iTunes (or some 3rd party tool) to wipe the existing album art, and then TuneUp will display those albums in its search results. Its also not great for albums with inconsistent artwork (some files of the album with artwork, and some without), as it will save new album art to only those files of the album that dont currently have any artwork.

Lack of FLAC support

I would have easily rated this program 4 stars if they included support for FLAC files. For $40 I would have assumed I didnt need to find a second program to tag/clean up my FLAC collection.

Not Worth It

Save your money. Buggy as all get out. Loads your whole itunes library everytime it loads. Tags your mp3 in the comment section with "Cleaned By TuneUp!" really? Thumbs WAY DOWN! Pure snake oil!

great App if you have patience

love this app but it sure does take alot of time ...mostly due to the freeze ups set the search paramiters to the highest 750 i believe and dont do more then 500 at a time hit the pause or close app and restart if it freezes ...most times youll see it did hundreds of songs and u didnt know it

Not worth the money........

It was good while it worked, now it dont work at all. Send reports to Apple and nothing changed, if you are thinking of purchasing this app.... dont. Right now it is nothing but crapp ......... from 1 to 10, i give it 0....... Apple should be ashame to have apps like this in there store. Not happy at all.

Meh...

Yeah, it does what they sell it to do, at least with less pain than trying to do it manually, but its buggy, crashes regularly. Like other reviewers, I feel its a worthwhile product but poorly implemented and definitely feel like I havent had the "App Store certified" experience. If it was 5 bucks, it would be a great product, but at this price I expect more. Oh, and its SLOW!

Save your $

iTunes does Cover Art and finds Duplicates for free, I deleted TuneUp

Terrible

Made the mistake of paying $40 for this terrible product. Doesnt do anything close to what it says it will. My iTunes library was far worse after Tuneup than it was before. Thank goodness for the undo feature, and thats its one good feature: One that undoes what the app does. Absolute, and complete garbage. Worthless.
