Does not work at all

Do not buy it. Blank screen and nothing was happening. Apple should remove this from the store it is a complete waste of time and money.

IF YOU HAVE ALOT OF DUBSTEP OR HAVE ALOT OF MUSIC THATS NOT ON ITUNES, BAD BUY

Well first off its $40 and thats alot of money for an app so if im paying alot i expect something good. well i donwloaded the demo from there website and i was like oh wow this is nice, but i had alot of dubstep and it thinks its something else and always messes up all my music titles and gives them like some asian name. its wack

Not worth the money

The program is only good to clean up 1000 songs a pop. If you have a huge library it will take weeks to complete. Each 1000 songs takes 3-4 hours to clean up if the program doesnt freeze, or if their server doesnt lose connection (happens everytime). Great idea, poor execution.

Not bad, but can still use some work!

Overall, I have to give this app a grade between a C and a C+. I am happy that most of my songs have cover art and have been "cleaned," but this app really needs to work on expanding its music library. There a dozen songs that I can count that are not correct at all. I am happy that there is an app to bring "more color" to our music library than the occasional music note in iTunes, but you guys still have plenty of room for improvement. I like the app but I dont love it.

would have been nice..

* server connection problems every time i try to clean. * cover art finder does a good job of finding albums, but unfortunately nothing seems to happen after i click save. the covers do not show up in itunes or in the files themselves. i have tried the cover art four times now and each time it finds the same number of "missing" covers even though ive supposedly saved them. * user interface needs work, for instance very difficult to determine between two shades of grey if a cover has been saved or not. error messages in cover art do not display properly * program crashes every time i quit it. would have been nice if i could get it to work. very expensive for such faulty software UPDATE: I have updated my rating from a 1 to a 3. I just upgraded to Mountain Lion and TuneUp no longer crashes when I quit it. Also I did some file cleaning today and it works, although a tad slow I have very good metadata now for some songs. Im still figuring out if I can get album art to work. So anyway, perhaps a lot of the problems were due to my need to update OSX.

Not ready, crashes, needs work, no refunds.

Crashes, locks up and is incredibly frustrating for an app that costs $40. I expected a lot more, disappointed! Tried using this morning, crashed twice, reports sent to Apple once again. No more than 100 songs at a time, and the color wheel starts spinning, AARRGGHH!!! NOTE: I am using a 27" iMac, 2011 model with 16gig of RAM and a high-speed cable Internet connection. All media is stored on a WD 4TB external HD that is connected to the iMac via a thunderbolt connection. Tried to get a refund, as it was purchased via the app store, emailed TuneUp, no response. Save your money. Jan 2013. Tried this app again this afternoon and have had to open and close it (restart) four times now and it constantly says that the library has recently been updated and needs to re-scan. After its complete, I try to add song (10 at a time) and it keeps saying that "some tracks were not found in your music selection". I even tried one song at a time and the same message keep appearing. Funny thing is that they were dragged from the library to TuneUp and they play in iTunes when I click on them. This has to be the most aggravating app that I have purchased to date. Base on the performance and the utter frustration, this should be a $0.99 app. This application needs a MASSIVE UPDATE to rectify the issues.

Not a solid software

I bought this application to clean up my messy library. I can say that it works quite OK for about 90% of my library. I can understand that matching meta data is not an easy task and I dont complain about the mis-matches. However, what bothers me is the stability of the software itself. It crashes quite often. I think the "Tuniverse" feature is not well implemented since it is the cause of most of the crashes. Hope that the software can be more stable in the next revision.

We develop, and we acknowledge the achivement.

Im the Chief Product Owner of two enterprises. We are focused on comunication and technology. I LOVE this app. Before the App Store ive purchased it about 3 or 4 times - and one add-on. I would like to share only ONE critic (thats why 4 stars YET) about the user experiece of the amazing piece of software: VIEWPORT. We, the users, should be allowed to expand the view port to see the ENTIRE TITLE of the song when NEEDED. Just do that, allow us to improve the recognition algorithm we it makes bad choices. Thats my 2cents that - if implemented - would make me pay for it one more time. Best regards and congratulation to had decide to jump into the App Store.

Sanke oil is beeter than this!

I bought TuenUp several weeks ago and have NEVER been able to run it. It crashes immeadately after iTunes start-up. I can get things to Crash for free. Thanks for the $40.00 Icon. I no longer see the devil when I get angry, I see the TuneUp logo. :)

Thank you for ruining my music collection.

Tuneup decided to pull all kinds of names for songs (some of them in chinese), that were completely inaccurate. Now I have a practically unbrowsable collection. This program is CRAP!

Slow!

Really Slow! Dont buy it

an alright app

Just got this app and it does work but only worth it if you got a large music collection, anything smaller than a 50 gig of music i would just have to say that its better to just do it manually. A little slow when loading a bunch of songs but good for those with patience and a lot of music. wouldnt suggest to those with a small amount of music but for those with a large collection an with time and patience a good buy...

DONT USE THIS

I only wish I can give this zero starts. Actually I only wish I NEVER used this software. This piece of software totally hosed up my iTunes library! I now have TV audio files playing in place of music files and Adobe Acrobat files in place of music files. Half the time I dont know what will play once I select a song to play. I have over 10,000 tracks of music. All mp3s. They reside on a NAS. Buying this software was to be the final step of getting my songs perfectly setup, and now Ive got a total mess!

High-dollar, low functionality

I wanted to clean up my library before I bought into iTunes match. I read about this app on a website whos review was beyond glowing. Basically, they concluded the review by saying, Just buy it, you need it and will be glad you did. After using this program for a little while I can only assume that the website I read about it on was some sort of affiliate because thisprogram does not deliver. It crashes often, and does very little good for my library in particular. When I go to clean an album, of which it recognizes all 14 songs, why does it show up as 5 seperate albims of the same name i iTunes. Isnt that the sort of thing this is meant to avoid? I hope this version gets improved on because Id like to get some value for my money out of this.

Great when it works horrible when it doesn

I have a pretty huge music collection with lots of ripped vinyl old non meta-datad CDs etc and am always looking to clean up so I was excited about tune up. I didnt want to risk my whole large music collection so I started on a smaller sub-collection on a laptop. Right away I was turned off my some somewhat spammy features (inserting cleaned by Tuneup into a tag by default, and always pushing you to a advertiser heavy tuneverse tab that is really a ploy to push affiliate links. These things thankfully can be turned off. As to its actual function, cleaning up & normalizing a library, Tune Up is pretty good with a wide range of music. You can have it scan your library and generate a playlist of dirty music which you can then clean 1000 tracks at a time. It give you back a list of things its sure of and things its less sure of. The sure of list works great. No problems. But if your library is like mine, the less sure list will be much bigger than the sure list and ends up being too big to check individually. Worse there is no way to scan the less sure list to see what is being matched. I foolishly put my trust in the app and got burned. In the first 1000 titles scanned hundreds were correct, but there are also 100s of mistakes. Bad inexplicable mistakes where none of the original metadata seems to have been matched. Personal recordings were suddenly given Japanese names etc. This is bad stuff. The cover art section of the app is equally maddinging. Strange results that seem to have nothing to do with the library and it doesnt allow you to do the thing you really want to do which is to drag in an album or two without art and see if it can find a match. Its a library wide thing or nothing. Frustrating. The deduper is also pretty useless. I want to dedup albums much more than individual tracks. I had only 2 exact matches but hundres of likely dups. Scanning the list it seemed that few were actual dups. Most were just albums where a song was played twice… Anyway ultimately I felt really screwed. $40 is the most Ive paid for software in a long time and I expected much more.

Dont bother

This screwed up my entire library. Put some of it in Japanese, put the wrong album artwork for something completely off from it being what it actually way. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

DO NOT BUY

Most unreliable software ever created. This does not work! It is unstable and i think that it is trying to do too much at once making my brand new iMac 2012 lock up. I was thinking this would be a great fix for my large itunes however i think i am going to have to do the work myself. WASTED MY MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT TRYING TO SAVE TIME!

So bad- please dont waste your money

Sadly this ruined my itunes, I had to go in an undo everything. Promises so much and delivers so little :( I wouldnt even reccomend this to someone I hate because no one deserves their library messed up this badly. Sad but so true.

NO acoustic fingerprinting.

Unlike services like Shazam and SoundHound, TuneUp doesnt listen to the songs as it tags them. Instead, it looks at a) the length of the songs, and b) existing tags. Im upset that I ever spent forty bucks on this scam.

THE WORST PURCHASE EVER!!

80% of all the songs it "tuned up were given the wrong name or info or album art. It is really the biggest waste of money ever and I recommend no one to buy this app.
